The Individualized Funding Resource Centre (IFRC) Society was developed to help people succeed on the Choices in Support for Independent Living (CSIL) Program and other individualized funding programs in British Columbia. Paul Gauthier, founder of the CSIL program now has a place to share his knowledge, and experience. The IFRC is committed to providing supports that will allow individuals to fully participate in their communities.
The Individualized Funding Resource Centre understands that managing individualized funding can be overwhelming and challenging for many people with disabilities. Too often, individuals accept the alternative, because of a lack of information or support. We can provide that information and support to ensure success and independence!
To empower people with disabilities who access Individualized funding, by providing them with knowledge and resources to support them in fully utilizing the benefits of the respective program, whereby achieving their objectives of autonomy and independence.

Paul Gauthier, Executive Director of IFRC Society, in partnership with the BC Ministry of Health and Spinal Cord Injury BC, has developed this online workbook to give people with disabilities the information they need to apply and, if successful in their application, manage the transition to becoming a CSIL employer.
Recruitment Facilitation is one of the most crucial aspects of being a CSIL Employer. This service which is offered by the Individualized Funding Resource Centre is paid for directly out of your CSIL funds.
We understand how difficult an extremely daunting task like finding staff can be. Where do you start? What are you looking for? What kind of person are you prepared to share a very personal part of your life with?
These are just a few of the questions that may come to mind. We can assure you that our Recruitment Facilitation service will give you peace of mind in knowing that IFRC is dedicated to screening applicants and providing you with quality caregivers to consider for an interview. We are willing to assist you with any aspect of interviewing as needed even as much as being there at the interview and asking the questions.
Here are just a few of the Recruitment Facilitation services we provide:
• Establishing client needs
• Specific time and task analysis
• Identifying potential desired employee attributes and staff requirements
• Creating advertisements and putting them out in the community
• Managing all replies to the ads and screening each applicant, by hosting application sessions in the community by where we engage said applicants in a pre-screen interview process
• Providing the client with a list of applications which are recommended by us and fit the prerequisites set out by the client
• Doing all the Reference Checks and Criminal Record checks
• Assisting with interviewing when required
• Assisting with any scheduling conflicts or complications and emergencies that may come up regarding staffing

The Right Fit Project (RFP) is an effort to address challenges in matching affordable, wheelchair-accessible homes in Metro Vancouver with people who need them.
Originally launched as a three (3) year project partnership project between the Individualized Funding Resource Centre (IFRC) Society and the Disability Alliance BC, the project was aimed at addressing the systemic barriers and test streamlined models to connect wheelchair users with accessible, affordable housing that meets their needs. The Right Fit Project (RFP) has left its pilot phase and continues to support systemic change and innovation through a collaborative, ground-up approach.
The Right Fit Project is led by Disability Alliance BC in partnership with the Individualized Funding Resource Centre Society, BC Housing, City of Vancouver, Fraser Health Authority, Vancouver Coastal Health Authority and Ministry of Social Development & Social Innovation. The project is generously funded by the City of Vancouver and Vancity's Reaching Home Program.

We are pleased to announce a three year partnership with the Disability Alliance BC, for the Right Fit Pilot Project (RFPP). The RFPP is a collaborative effort to address barriers and test the streamlined models to connect Wheelchair users with affordable, accessible housing in the lower mainland.
The pilot will develop, and test, a case management model to help a rolling caseload of 20 wheelchair users find homes that fit their needs, in addition to the personal supports needed to live independently. Project partners will work directly with applicants and with housing and service providers to learn more about systemic barriers.
Paul Gauthier, Executive Director of IFRC and Jane Dyson, Executive Director of Disability Alliance BC will be on CBC Early Edition Monday, December 11 at 7:40am, to speak about this project for a special co-hosted segment with Rick Hanson. When it comes to CSIL, Payroll and Bookkeeping is paramount. As a CSIL Employer, your funds are dependent on the upkeep of your books and monthly reports. This requires a lot of responsibility but is essential in keeping your CSIL business legal and your employees happy.
Payroll is often a very tedious task and it is not an easy one to figure out with so many factors that come into play. Some people have the gift of calculating numbers and they can do their own bookkeeping, while others would prefer to have assistance from an accountant so they can focus their time and energy on other important tasks.
At the Individualized Funding Resource Centre we can offer you our personalized Payroll Services. To lighten the load of responsibilities for you, we have a couple accountants who are well equipped and experienced in CSIL business. These services which are paid for directly out of your CSIL funds, are offered to assist you in the following ways:
• Set up accounts with Revenue Canada and Work Safe BC
• Processing payroll twice per month
• Writing cheques twice per month
• Submitting Payroll deductions to Revenue Canada and Coverage premium to Work Safe BC
• Monthly Reporting for CSIL Funding to Health Authority
• Providing Record of Employment when there is staff layoff or termination
• Providing annual T4 slips
• Preparing and attending audit with Health Authority
